Traditional Jazz Society of Oregon

Dedicated to the perpetuation of America's Dixieland Jazz

The Traditional Jazz Society of Oregon (TJSO) is committed to preserving and perpetuating America's own music: Traditional Jazz*. To this end, TJSO holds monthly jazz sessions at the  Eugene Eagles Lodge 1375 Irving Road, Eugene) on the  first Sunday of every month from October through June, except February. Admission is $9, students $7.

Each session features a different, special guest band. On alternate sets, jammers are invited to sign in and be brought up to the stage to do a turn with their fellow Traditional Jazz musicians.

 * "Traditional jazz" is defined as the various styles of New Orleans jazz and their outgrowths, encompassing styles sometimes called dixieland, classic jazz, hot jazz, Chicago style, San Francisco style, etc.
